Have any of you other guys ever "tracked" Ax2Grind? I have been following him for a few days and noticing some odd behavior concerning his gameplay.

He appears to have an uncanny ability to know when a player is going to appear in a door or opening: I suspect a wallhack or possibly a hacked model which protrudes outside the regular "bounding box". This behavior appears well beyond his just listening to "enemy footsteps".

Another oddity is some uncanny rail and super shotgun hits: He doesnt appear to be using a complete autoaim but something that shoots when enemy crosses his crosshairs.

I am familar with and have tested some cheats (on private server) ratbot, frkq2, and some others, so I am quite adept at tracking and spotting suspect players.

I am not accusing him outright because I cannot be 100% sure, but he exhibits many characteristics associated with the frkq2 hacked client.

I understand the mutant server has some protection against this client but I continue to believe something is going on!

Basically I just want a fair game for all, If I am wrong then I apoligize but hopefully the console will take an interest and observe this behavior. $:-\$

Hi Don,

A few of the admins have wondered about that player for some time now.

Haven't got anything definitive in a demo yet.

If you do happen to record a demo showing some clearly suspicous shots, please do send it to console@tastyspleen.net.

I've played an beat axe on a few occasions on ts and nygang servers.. and i doubt anyone i can beat is hacking (unless he doesnt always have em on, most possible) if i see him on nygang maybe ill spec him to see if theres anything suspicious.. but afaik he seems pretty honest

Since Axe called me a cheater because I got caught by the bug and popped into a game invisible.

And since he said it with such conviction.

I find his playstyle suspicious as well, and wow, look at all the new smileys!

(yet I still chose to use an old boring one =P)

Namely about A2G is that on maps I know are fairly new, or at least new to the server, he seems to know them as well as DM1. Unless he just has an uncanny ability to learn a map extremely quickly (I do believe he has made some maps before), it just seems odd his awareness of where others are.

I know of several message posters here on TS that have fallen under suspicion at one time or another, (all good players do) but are assumed clean at the present. (innocent untill proven guilty)

In my experience, most cheaters are either too ignorant to hide it, blatantly don't care to hide it, or very good at hiding it. However, he will eventually be exposed with solid proof, no matter how good he is at hiding it. They eventually become complacent after getting away with it for a while, and reveal themselves. It's just a matter of time, plain and simple.

A2G has been around a very long time and so far, I've seen no conclusive evidense of a cheat. It would be very rare indeed for a player to go this long without revealing himself. Doesn't mean there's not one and I'm not defending him, but I find it better not to publicly tarnish a players reputation with allegations of cheating before there's real proof. This is not to say that suspected cheats shouldn't be reported, on the contrary, they should be.

Console and the admins at TS are highly accessible and there are ways to communicate privately with them. Time and date of the alleged player abuse and a demo of the alleged cheat is very helpful in determining one. When a cheat is confirmed, I'm sure it will be made public.

No one is above suspicion, except me of course.

Actually this is the first time I have seen the "consoles" contact email address, may be I have just missed it but stating it is easily accesed is a bit of a stretch to say the least. The email is not easy to find on the TS web page, In fact I have never seen it listed.

I wouldnt have publicly brought up this subject had I had a legit admin contact but I dont even know who the adnins are!

I agree about accusing someone of cheating, It is very overused and Yes I have also been accused.
I usually just say "Thanks" and move on.

No doubt Ax is a good player he moves well and can perform all the neccesary jumps but as I said before I have noticed some suspicious behavior recently.
