Starting this week I'll be hosting a training cast on the tasty cast server. (http://tastyspleen.net:8000/listen.pls) Every week we'll jump on board for to a new topic and tips and tricks for performance.

The tatsycast will be weekly on Saturday nights at 9:15. I'll also record each week as a downloadable resource. (although with broadcasts, this is a quick way to fill up webspace so I can't garuntee a complete downloadable history)

The first topic will focus on phil's training mod. Infinitly useful resource, I'm surprised it was never implemented earlier. I know he's looking for input so feel free to provide that here as well as on his original thread http://tastyspleen.net/quake/forums/index.php?topic=8524.new#new.

Also topics and suggestions for future shows is always appreciated. Ever had a question on improving team work in a 2v2 match or just curious about suggestions on item run circles in maps new to you. Please ask away and I'll address those questions and more.

Even the competitive new comer and curious Vanilla player is welcome to get a preview into the strategies of the tourney leaders. Time will be dedicated to address and encourage new comers into competitive play. If anything, dahang needs more NEWB cannon fodder, but it's always worth the time to try your luck in a competitive match. I'll go over the basics and the tips that can raise your bar and give you an extra edge when first atempting teamplay and competitive matches.

A friend of mine (Deathmagic) has offered to help with some back end production work as well as join in as a cohost when available. He'll be a very invaluable member to help along week to week. And when I say invaluable, it's not because I would put a price tag on his services. It's because I already tried and noone would buy him.

Anywho, for many reasons, including the addition of a producer/cohost the weekly cast is once again moving to Saturdays at 9:15pm. This should be the last time it has to be moved but will always be available for download. Either way sorry for any inconvenience. I look forward to the new night.

Next week will be about Chaos, Wod, and IWM. I'll focus on whether weapons mods can provide usefull skills for competitive games, or they're just plain splatter fests of death and violence. MWUHAHAHAHA!

*NOTE*
The recording cut off prematurely for an unknown reason. This will be addressed for next week. For this reason I've included the "content" file for this week basically containing a rough outline of the talking points as an attachment.

It cut out again about 15 seconds early. 15 seconds!! LOL. I think it has to do with the file format because the file shows the proper recording time before it saves but seems to cut out after. Either way I'll keep working on fixing that bug.

Next week's topic is a mod near and dear to my quake 2 heart, Action Quake 2. I mention it a lot because it is truely my first competitive gaming experience and I still consider it my favorite kind of competitive match. Tastyspleen has an action server that sits idle too much. Just goto action. I'll try to sit in the server this week to try and start a pick up game with anyone interested.

Also Next Week's broad cast will be recorded on the night of Friday 13th, and the recording will be broadcast again on saturday night. So walk under some ladders, break some mirrors, and tune in this friday at 9:15pm EST.

Also Here's the links for the files if you've never played before. Some of the files hosted on Tastyspleen may or may not have the correct sprites and pics.
Use this AQ2 installer first

Then install the TS files. It's o.k. to overwrite existing files because the pics were the only important thing from the first download

Also config is extremely important. I've attached a generic autoexec.cfg file. The default aq2 config assumes you use arrow keys and want inverted mouse pitch.

Any interference you hear is from an awesome lightning storm outside but atleast I've seemed to work out any recording kinks from the past two weeks... and picked up new ones by leaving the music running in the background. Also please excuse the horribly bad taste jokes. (R.I.P. Tim Russert)

Topic for next week is generations mods, and mods that have lasted through the generations.

I'm proud to announce that all music used for the show will be written or performed by the extremely talented Ben Pezzner. I've been a long time fan of Ben's and while searching through some playlists, found some very appropriate music for this genre. I also hope to get you guys inside information on any new songs or projects he is working on. I'll keep in touch regularly with him and he'll also have access to do a spot or join into any show. His back story is simple. He's an insanely talented musician who understands reality. (meaning he's going to college for a real job in engineering). I hope this can help him get his feet on the ground in music which is where I think he really belongs.

Programmer deadlines LAWL.

After a 13 hour workday yesterday and 5 hours of work so far today... Tonights show will be shortened and used only to brush up on old topics. I'll continue the topic of Generations Mod and othe mods that have survived the generations for next week.
