![]() Well seeing all the talk of hid kits and all i figured sure why
not get one of these kits and see how they are. I got the Sanhua kit from
a very excellent ebay vendor located in china. Paid for the kit Monday had
it the next day all the way from china and im located in Texas.!! the
seller is great and service is fast. You are provided a tracking number
and when you check on the ups site it lists it as being sent Express
Picked up the kit The brand is from Sanhua: blub type 9006 color temp 4300k ![]() Above is the box shot, open it up and we are greeted with the below 2 ballasts, 2 9006 bulbs, wiring, zipties, mounting brackets and some mounting sticky pads, instruction set ![]() ![]() First step is to unplug the stock bulbs , very easy just push in the clip and pull down on the stock power connector to the bulbs. turn stock bulb and pull out. The Sanhua kit uses the power connector to connect to the power connector located on the bulb. ![]() Here in my hand i am holding the power connector on the hid bulbs that connects right into the oem power source pictured above. the other wires pictured will connect to the wire on the ballast ![]() Remove the bulbs from the casing Sorry for the blurry picture ![]() The 9006 hid bulb has the same 3 prong connectors that twist in so stick in the new bulb carefully (remember never touch the bulb with your fingers!) and turn ![]() hid bulbs are set to go now just clip in the power connector that normally connects to the oem bulbs to the one in the hid bulb show above in black. and here ![]() Repeat the same thing for the other side Now you need to figure out where you want to mount your ballasts. You can use the sticky pads or the zip ties or use the brackets. Many different ways you can go. I like this kit because it comes with mounting brackets that let you position the ballast 3 different ways example ![]() you can mount the bracket so that you can drill or screw it in so the ballast is vertical. or below horizontal. either right or left ![]() I looked around and figured i could use a few different spots but i came up with this utlizing the mounting bracket. Mount the bracket to the ballast secure it with the suppled bolts and get it pretty tight on there so it wont slip off. unbolt the top bolt as pictured (2nd bolt location would put the ballast too far away from the wires to reach) slide the bracket in there and just put the bolt back in and tighten back in. Easy! ![]() ![]() the ballasts sit right under the nose part with no clearance problems what so ever. if you want you can even bend the mounting brackets down now so to angle the ballasts down, so instead of sticking straight out they bend down. Totally up to you. Also when looking for mounting places i located another point *but might be out of reach of the wires..not a problem for you guys that like to splice wires and make them a bit longer* located on the inside there is a perfect size hole that matches up with this unused bolt hole. it securely fastens it. ![]() another pic ![]() Moving back on track connect the blue connector into the ballast ![]() and run both wires coming off the ballast back towards the bulb location There is a nice little gap to run on both sides and go under the mounting bracket ![]() Now connect the 3 wires yes its color coded no worry about doing red to black or whatever its straight red to red black to black etc ![]() And thats IT! one side down now do the other side. with one on i wanted to compare the 4300k bulb in the oem projector vs a hallogen bulb in the oem projector. and yes i left my fog lights on as you can tell in the pictures. ![]() Driver side hid on ![]() ![]() Both Mounted ![]() Both lights on. The passender looks a bit yellow in the pic since it was just barely turned on. When you first trun them on they are a very sweet pure whitecolor with a hit of a blue but it turns to a clear beautiful white ![]() Driver Side ![]() Passenger Side ![]() and the cut off zones ![]() ![]() ![]() Over all I am very impressed with this Kit, Everything went great, Install was a no brainer. No cutting or splicing wires. Truely a plug and play kit, The price is $188 US dollars Shipped and you get it in about 2days or 3days.! For the price its a great upgrade from stock bulbs. The pics dont really do the light justice. i stood back and didnt really get any glare that i could see and went down the road a bit and looked at the lights from a distance and they were pretty nice. Driving home thigns were light up very nice, the 4300k gives things a very nice white light. ![]() Thanks for your time ![]() Last edited by pinkdotts : 04-27-2006 at 04:28 AM. |
