Four new environments each sharing a common theme and atmosphere throughout. These maps unluck some of the hidden visual potential of the quake 2 engine. The new textures and sounds combine to create an atmosphere like no other. Background: Why do these maps exist? Most deathmatch maps are nothing more than a bunch of pretty boxes, cleverly designed and interconnected to provide an enjoyable place to kill your friends. Gothic Ressurection gives you more than the typical map. These maps have a purpose, a reason for existence. Background.txt explains how these locations came to exist, and what they were used for. Installation: run the self-extracting .exe file and direct it to quake2\baseq2\. rename grdm.pak to pakX.pak, where X is the first available number from 0-9 (ie. pak4.pak). load up a game of quake 2 and let the fun begin.
