Built For The Kill - by Pan ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- bsp name : pandm8.bsp author : dj "Pan" bloot (aka pantera) date : september 2004 email : dj_pantera@hotmail.com home page : http://www.home.zonnet.nl/djbloot/ game : Quake2 / FFA Deathmatch Extract files to your Quake2\baseq2\ directory, using folder names ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- #Description: Small Quake2 deathmatch level, suited for 2~7 players. My last map for Q2 and one I'm proud of. Again I went for standard textures only and hopefully created something fresh and original. "Built For The Kill" features the big railgun model I created for my TAR project (see my homepage for details). I created the railgun about a year ago and although I canceled that project I still wanted to share it with you guys. As you can imagine it was *very* hard to use such a complicated object in a normal dm map without totally ruining the fps, layout and flow. I think I found the right balance though, hope you like it. #Play/map information: game : quake 2 deathmatch : 9 spawn points new sounds : maybe;) new textures : maybe;) new env : maybe;) used settings : vid_gamma 0.65 / gl_modulate 2 / intensity 2 #Construction: construction time : ~4 weeks, not including the railgun model editor(s) used : Qeradiant -> mapping, texturing / Quark 6.4 -> lighting compile times : Bsp 10 sec / Vis 85 sec / Rad (no -extra) 130 sec compile machine : Athlon 1800+ / 256ddr / GF2Ti #Previous Q2 maps: - Iraq attack (iraq.bsp) - Red Rooster (pandm2.bsp) - Kryptonite (krypton.bsp) - in2 Oblivion (in2obl.bsp) - Rigor Mortis (mortis.bsp) - When Pigs Fly (pigs.bsp) - Grunt No More (grunt.bsp) #Additional thanks to: - id for Quake2. - LeRay & Co for setting up this contest.
