Compile machine : i7 4790k, 16gb ram, GTX 1070 Editor/s used : Trenchbroom 2020.2, QuArK v6.6 Beta 6 (for compiling) Other programs : none Bugs : Software Quake doesn't render everything in the largest room. RTX Quake 2 doesn't support one of the textures. Tested the game in vanilla Q2, Yamagi and KMQuake2 and RTX Quake 2 New light tools were used in compiling this map because Arghrad has really lacked support in recent years. EricW was kind enough to add and improve support for Q2 with his modern lighting tools, the biggest improvement over Arghrad is reliability and quality. I was having issues with unlit faces, splotchy dark areas on faces and just generally it looked sub-par. Another improvement is that this tool has nicer ambient occlusion via dirtmapping. Further info - https://ericwa.github.io/ericw-tools/ I also have not used the usual tools for bsp and vis, qbism has added support for valve 220 texture projections which massively improves the accuracy and predictability of texture-work. It's not 100% perfect, for example skewing doesn't seem to work reliably, but overall it's much better. Small changes have been made. The slime area under the sniper rifle bit has gone. In tribute I have made the lighting green in this area but I have not added an equivalent gun, instead it's just a shotgun. This is because there's now a railgun in the bottom room instead of a shock cannon. The jump-boots are gone because Quake 2 does not have an equivalent, instead I have put a 2nd rocket launcher (I guess rocket jumping is the equivalent). I added a machine gun to the ASMD area near the Quad/Amp but it's ok because this map still has 2 Railguns (!!). The Flak Cannon area now has an additional path ala Deck 17 in the newer UT games, the Flak has been replaced by the double barrel shotgun. The Ges Bio Rifle area has a grenade launcher instead. Most of the spawn points are the same but an extra one has been added near the Quad Damage area. The rest of the placements are pretty much exactly the same give or take, so your muscle memory should be golden. * Copyright / Permissions * This was made by me, FifthElephant.
