=============================================================================== Title : Conventional Filename : grom_dm3.bsp Version : 4/11/99 Author : Robert McLachlan Alias : Grom Email Address : grom@cwcom.net Other maps by author : grom_dm1.bsp / Links - avoid! grom_dm2.bsp / The Cauldron Description : Conventional is suitable for most types of play, from 1v1 to 4v4 team games and up to, say, 12 player FFA. It's also suitable for some amusing telefrag action, and there are some nice jumps to be learnt as well. Can you jump from the MH platform to the RA? And back again? Probably - it ain't too hard :) Weapons aren't too excessive on this map, and are spread around a bit. Either cover the MH/RA area, or dominate the RG/CG corridors, where most of the other health is. And don't forget the quad - but be careful getting out the water ;) I've also included some nice-looking places which are impossible to get to, for some eye-candy and to frustrate people :) Additional Credits to : Robert Duffy for QERadiant Geoffrey DeWan for GDDQVIS and GDDQBSP Tim Wright for Argrad 2.0 id for Quake2, etc :) P for excellent advice in avoiding crap bits :) Also Pies, Jekub, Phat, and many others for playtesting =============================================================================== * Play Information * Game : Quake 2 Single Player : No Cooperative : No Deathmatch : Yes, 8 DM starts Difficulty Settings : No New Sounds : No New Graphics : No Demos Replaced : No * Construction * Base : Scratch Build Time : About 30 hours, over about 3 weeks Compile Time (approx) : QBSP - 12 seconds QVIS - 90 seconds QRAD - 18 minutes Editor used : QERadiant v147 Known Bugs : One rather annoying lighting bugette near the RG Some high r_speeds at various points - though not at any high- traffic areas. Silly vis problem - I'm not going to tell you where, as you may never find it ;) Still I can take heart that there are similar problems on q2dm2 and q2dm3 ;) * How to use this level * Unzip the files into Quake2/baseq2/maps then type 'map grom_dm3' at the console. * Copyright / Permissions * Copyright by me, so there. You can't make money out of this map without asking me - and though I would be amused to see it on one of those level collection CDROMs, you still have to ask me first. You can distribute this anywhere you like, as long as it stays in the original zipfile. Don't decompile this map, unless you're just wondering how I've done something. If you have a good reason for decompiling it, I'd rather you just contacted me for the original mapfile... * Info about where to get this map etc. * Since you already have this map, this bit's rather academic. Still, if you wanted to see my other maps, and those of my best mapping buddies (!), go to our clan website: http://www.gaznet.co.uk/kc - Maps are under Forgings, from the main page.
