I have a friend who is dead set on teaching me 3d animation, so he wants me to do the models for the robot msasters. In fact he hounds me every week to see if I finished them yet. So let me get the first one done before I can divy that up to any other interested parties.

The vweps, just to be sure we're on the same page, are the modelindex2's that you see other players holding. Correct?

yup.

the model of the buster and a couple variations shouldnt be too hard to do, I'd just have to make sure it's positioned right on the player model, for whichever models you want to use it for. I'd suggest making a generic blue megaman with one hand missing and let people use the standard male and female by making vweps for them too, if you feel so inclined and time permits..

wouldn't be too tough once the buster model is made.

it's just a matter of positioning it frame by frame on each model, for each type of model that you want to work with the mod..
(forcing the megaman one would look pretty tight tho)


I've only ever dabbled in making player models, but I'm willing to give it a shot, when I have some free moments

To install extract to your quake 2 directory. The file structure of "megaq2" already exists in the zip.
i.e.
Extract to c:\quake2
This will create the mod folder c:\quake2\megaq2

(Remember that some versions of quake 2 install to c:\program files\quake II)

Remember to bind keys to +use and drop tech
i.e.
bind mouse2 +use
bind q drop tech

LOL. I'm still trying to get a hold of Lil Sweep on your behalf. He offered to keep linux up with builds for me. I had been waiting for the single player to progress further before I sent him the source again, however it's about time to get a linux build out there.

Give me a couple days and I'll have something for you.

Lots of new features available soon. I'm going to release a 1.3 that contains the new water physics and some new sounds. Also a precaching fix for the charged up crash bombs.

Made some minor changes. Try them out and let me know what you think. Changed the ammo limits and all guns start with full ammo. Also the dust crusher can shoot 3 at a time now.

Added Rush Coil, just press g (your use grenades button). There's a lot of work left to go into rush, but currently he's functional and adds another dimension to the game play.

Eventually you'll switch to a rush gun and when you fire first rush will spawn and every shot after that will be a normal buster. Rush jet and Rush marine to follow as time goes on.

I've got a lot of work left to do on the model. Currently the model you'll download is a dummy model and skin with dummy filenames. Whenever the model is finished, the new download will not be hampered by the existing model.
